What Is The Seaport Community Coalition?

The Seaport Community Coalition is comprised of representatives of several community groups and residents from the area south of the Brooklyn Bridge and east of lower Broadway. The Coalition was established in 1986 in order to bring a unified voice and channel for action to quality of life issues that impact the residents and businesses of the area. Through strong working relationships with Community Board #1 and local elected officials, the Coalition spearheads efforts regarding waterfront usage, environmental protection, historic preservation, commercial and residential development, sanitation and health, parks and recreation, and crime prevention.
